DG Optics would like to partner with you in your engineering efforts. Here are some frequently asked questions to help clear the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can you do?

We at DG Optics are willing to look at anything optical. We are familiar with a wide range of optical problems and solutions covering the spectrum. We will make a quick assessment of the problem and what services we can provide. If it is out of our realm we will point you in the right direction.

How do you work?

Contact us with your problem or question. There is an initial free phone consultation while we hash out the scope of the work. We can then provide a quotation on work that we can accomplish within your time schedule.

What can I expect?

A well documented structured appproach. Depending on the stage, and the scope the output may differ.

What about proprietary information?

We are ready and willing to sign non-disclosure agreements. The work and output is yours.

Do you deliver prototypes?

At DG Optics, we believe the design and model are the foundations for hardware builds. DG Optics will provide a model from which a detailed prescription is generated. The prescription is the recipe for building breadboards, prototypes, or product. If so decided DG Optics will be happy to work through all stages.

What about intellectual property?

It is yours. We are work for hire. We can also help you document your research or engineering effort for patent application.

What software do you use?

DG Optics has experience in the major optical design software packages: Code V, Zemax, OSLO, ASAP, TracePro, FRED, and Kymata. Primarily, OSLO is used for raytracing and optical design while FRED is used for propagation of light through opto-mechanical systems for design and analysis.
